Research interests
I am interested in algorithms for the analysis of high dimensional data sets,
with a special focus on prototype based learning. In a wider context I work on different topics in
data management, business- and computational intelligence, machine learning and bioinformatics.
Currently I am working on algorithms for the analysis of (large) potentially non-metric proximity data.
This topic has a wide range of applications e.g. in robotics, bioinformatics, graph data analysis.
See more recent publications and software on this page. I also work on methods and applications of streaming analysis and transfer learning.
I am also interested on efficient large scale scientific software systems including programming, testing and development
techniques.
Research associates:
I work in close collaboration with the group on
Machine Learning Group at the University of Bielefeld
and
the computational intelligence group at the
University of Applied Sciences Mittweida
where I also co-supervise multiple Master and PhD students.
