Experiment
Motion Extrapolation and Apparent Motion as a Function of Context

The Experiment requires
Netscape 3.x.

The Experiment

We are investigating the effects of context on the ability to extrapolate simulated visual motion.

Our motion extrapolation system may be based on retinal coordinates. In that case a simulated 2-D context should not produce different results than a 3-D context. If, on the other hand, motion exptrapolation is based on the perceived 3-D world, differences should occur. Given identical motion on the screen, the latter case should produce a difference between 2-D and 3-D contexts.
